EARLY YEARS ARE LEARNING YEARS
Holly Springs School For Early Education Celebrates National Week of the Young Child
The parents and pre-k children of Holly Springs School For Early Education came together for the annual Pre-K Art Show during the Week of the Young Child (April 15-19, 2013). As part of the national Week of the Young Child celebrated across the country, Holly Springs School For Early Education honors young children and their teachers who make a difference in their lives each year.
“Week of the Young Child is a perfect time for our school to recognize that early years are learning years for all young children.”
The demand for early childhood care and education programs continues to increase not only in response to the growing demand for out-of-home child care but also in recognition of the critical importance of educational experiences during the early years. Several decades of research clearly demonstrate that high-quality, developmentally appropriate early childhood programs produce short- and long-term positive effects on children’s cognitive and social development.
Ms. Kathy and Ms. Latanya did an outstanding job working with the children all year teaching about different forms of art. Many items displayed included clay pots, clay faces, glass work, self portraits, Kandinsky art work, and Rangoli designed pointalism art. Many types of art were introduced from all over the world. Art is such an important part of children’s learning. It’s a wonderful way to express oneself and truly be creative.
