About Us

In early 2000, Holly Springs School for Early Education‘s founder and curriculum director, Kate Collins Newton, saw a great need for quality child care and early childhood education; one that wasn’t commercialized and outrageously priced—one that really met the needs of the Holly Springs community.

Mrs. Newton, after having received her bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood and Child Psychology with a K-6 certification, and her Master’s Degree in Early Childhood from UNC in 2006, put her vision into motion.

Impassioned by her desire to educate children, provide quality care and be a trustworthy resource for Holly Spring parents—the doors of Holly Springs School for Early Education were opened to the public.

Our school was the first independently owned and operated childcare and pre-school education school in the area, and we were proud to have that distinction.

Our Staff Goes The Extra Mile!

We are committed to our children, their families and our community.  Our family-centered atmosphere allows us the opportunity to get to know everyone who enters our school.   We understand our parents’ scheduling needs, as reflected in our school’s hours (Monday-Friday 6:30a-6:00p).

Highly personalized and enriched by the practices of many early childhood philosophies, we take a holistic approach to ensure that the ‘whole child’ is developed.   This approach has promoted a low-teacher turnaround and multi-year family involvement.

Our parents are an essential component in our school’s success. Communication with them is not only important but also vital. As partners, we share in the growth and educational expansion.  Holly Springs School of Early Education has an open door policy that allows parents to visit or tour the school without an appointment.

We also offer several parent workshops throughout the year. Here are just a few of the things that our parents have to say about the programs we offer:

“Two of our children attended from infant age. We love the closeness we’ve had with the school family and the overall atmosphere of the school including all the events. “

~Tim Zettel

Our teachers are wholly devoted to our standard of excellence.  All our lead teachers have NC Credentials and/or Early Childhood degrees. They are also required to take Continuing Education classes either online or at an approved college on a yearly basis. Additionally, all teaching staff is trained in CPR and First Aid, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) prevention, Basic School Age childcare (BSAC), playground safety, appropriate discipline and behavior and classroom management.

As a community partner, we have a longstanding relationship with the Women’s Center of Wake County and are committed sponsors of their many events.  We sponsor and support the local PTA with donations, supplies, gifts for teachers and local grants. We support the Holly Springs Food Cupboard with food drives and services and we adopt families in need. Our allegiance is without distraction and many times without limits.  We would love to have you as part of our family!

At Holly Springs School, we have set our bar high.
Your children are far too important to us not to reach its heights!
